Telegram is the easiest of the three channels to set up. Personal chat, group chat, or both.
Before you start
A Telegram account
A Chief of Staff account (Solo or above for persistent memory)
Steps
/01
Find the Chief of Staff bot
In Telegram, search for @chiefofstaffbot. Tap the verified result — Telegram shows our logo on the profile.
/02
Start the bot
Tap Start. Alex will greet you with a link to connect your Chief of Staff account. Tap the link, sign in, and approve.
/03
Talk to Alex
Type whatever you'd ask on the web. Alex responds with your business profile loaded.
/04
(Optional) Add Alex to a group
In any group chat, tap the group name → Add member → search chiefofstaffbot → add. Alex responds to @chiefofstaffbot mentions only — no silent listening.
Groups on Team or Company plans share the business memory. Perfect for co-founder pods or early teams.
Troubleshooting
Alex says "please link your account"
Visit Settings → Channels → Telegram and click Reconnect. You'll get a fresh link for the bot.
Can't find @chiefofstaffbot
Make sure you're on Telegram version 9+ and search the exact handle including the @. Report via support if still missing.
Alex replies to every group message
It shouldn't. Alex only responds to @chiefofstaffbot mentions and replies to its own messages. If it's over-responding, disable group privacy-off in the bot settings — we default to privacy-on.
How do I remove Alex from a group?
Group settings → Members → tap chiefofstaffbot → Remove. Shared memory stays attached to the profile, not the group.
